The Japanese want to build a space elevator in 2050

The Japanese company Obayashi intends in 2050 to launch the space elevator, which will carry cargo and passengers to the moon to a moving ribbon of carbon nanotubes.

The speed of the new vehicle will be 200 kilometers per hour and the journey will take about a week. Energy of the vehicle will be provided by solar panels, said portal Mixnews.
The idea of the space elevator first appeared in 1895, when a scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky formulated the idea of the tower to reach geostationary orbit from the surface of the Earth. Since then, the idea is not once mentioned in science fiction, but in recent years, the U.S. agency NASA is increasingly held the conference, which is the subject of this vision into reality.
